Named for a mill that has stood since 1841 on an Ozark stream in Missouri.

The mill changed hands once — then never again. The same family held it for nearly two centuries: built it, lost it to fire, rebuilt it, and passed it down. Captain Kim Amyx founded the original structure in 1841. His descendants converted it to a trout ranch in 1954. Today the dam still holds. The waterfall still runs. The old buildings still stand.

Grist Mill Capital was named beside that stream. A boy whose father brought him there learned to look for things worth finding — in water, in the market, in the shape of a question nobody else had thought to ask yet. He grew up to spend twenty years on the trading floors of Chicago. The CBOT. The CME. The CBOE.

It was never really about the fish.

In every era, the future belongs to whoever asks the best questions.

A boy raised by a man.
A stream that raised a hedge fund.
